The File Fabric overlays a true hierarchical file system on top of Google Drive and Google Storage which:
gives the real look and feel of a genuine file system, including true Network Drive access to on-demand data.
When used in a team environment the File Fabric enables integration with Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, or alternatively has its own permissioning system to enable granular access permissions and notifications on shared folders for groups of users.
The File Fabric provides additional security and cloud governance for companies using Google Drive or Google Storage including the ability to set file sharing policies and GEO control restrictions, as well as full audit for all events so that current legislation, and future legislation such as GDPR, with regards to files stored on cloud can be satisfied.
The File Fabric solution can also use Google Nearline Storage as an archive backup to Google Drive Data to ensure not only high availability of files, but also business continuity in the event of an outage, or restore in the event of a ransomware attack.
As with companies Google Drive may be only one of the file clouds that is used within a company. Administrators can choose to combine Google Drive with another Cloud and enable users to see and work with all data from a single file system view.
